He has been happily married to his wife Britta since 2010, and together they are proud parents of their daughter Imani, born in 2015. A graduate in business administration, Rene has accumulated over 15 years of experience in digital marketing, eCommerce, and business consulting. He leads his own company group, “trust in,” which includes ventures in consulting, eCommer- ce, IT, and logistics. Known for his energetic approach and commitment to authenticity, Rene’s personal motto is “Arsch- lochfrei – glücklich sein!” which reÀects his philosophy of living happily and respectfully both in life and business. Rene’s foray into journalism and media began in 1996 with co-publishing a music fanzine, leading to the creation of Bright Eyes Magazin in 1998—a publication that transitioned from print to a vibrant online platform by 2003. In 2006, he co-founded Rock N Shop GmbH, an eCommerce company specializing in music merchandise, further cementing his ties to the music industry and fan culture. His connection to Roskilde Festival reaches back to 1993, a relationship nurtured through de- cades of festival attendance, community engagement, and professional photography. Since 1996, Rene has served as a stage photographer for the festival, publishing his ¿rst Roskilde photo works in 1999. Over the years, he has amassed an archive of approximately 107,000 images, capturing not only memorable performances but the rich tapestry of festival life and culture. Roskilde Festival 2025 – Pictures by Rene Otto is the 13th in his acclaimed series of photo books, documenting the Nordic festival from its early editions in the 2000s through to today. The book continues the artistic direction introduced in 2023: a thoughtful blend of electrifying live acts and the vibrant atmosphere of festival-goers and culture. Through his lens, readers gain an intimate view of the festival’s unique energy, the community spirit, and the diverse artistry that de¿nes Roskilde Festival as both an event and a cultural institution. Rene’s work stands out not only for its technical skill but for the genuine passion and long- term commitment behind every image. His photography is a personal narrative of nearly three decades of festival evolution, combining the perspective of an avid attendee, a storyteller, and a dedicated archivist. 2
